All we want is something to keep us from the things we're afraid to know
Who: Donnie and Maya
What: Some things to discuss
Where: Observatory
When: Some time after the pirateness and passing out
After the first incident regarding his return nightmares, it would have been considerably difficult to get some proper rest, if only for the fact that he was still utterly exhausted from his overuse of ninpō. Leo had made good on his promise to wake him whenever the nightmares did come, even if they didn't always seem to sound that way at first.
It's only natural that Donnie jumps right into things once he isn't feeling like face-planting in the middle of a task. There's so many security issues that need to be addressed, although he's putting off a lot of that because that likely involves a talk with Navi-No, and he's not ready to deal with that headache just yet. But there is someone he does need to talk to, and he figures she must expect it.
Maya gets a simple message: Observatory
Even if she doesn't show up, at least Donnie won't feel his time wasted. Even back on the R2, the observation deck had always been one of his most frequented spots.
Donnie stands at the massive windows, a hand on the glass-like surface as he looks out, feeling as close as he can get to floating out amongst the stars without having to worry about being in a stuffy spacesuit.

It's not fine. None of this is fine, but she's trying to pretend it is. That she isn't shaken. And then the message comes and she can't not show up, not if her guesses are right that Donnie might be recalling what happened back on the R2.
She wouldn't blame him if he was.
"Donnie?" She asks. "You called?"

"Hey," Donnie says. "Sorry I didn't check up on you sooner." He was only vaguely aware of how long he'd even been out, himself. The day he'd had to help Leo through things was hard to recall specifics, so he's glad he'd had Shelldon send him notes so he'd fully be prepared for the next time if Leo was having one of his bad days. He's just upset that he'd capped it off with his own in turn.
"...did you get hurt?" The pirate fight could have been a dream for all he remembers of it, but he knows it wasn't. He still has that coat in his room.
